West Somerset Railway Turning Triangle

Working for the main contractor, Preston Engineering Survey Ltd were asked to design and set-out a turning triangle for the West Somerset Railway at their site near Norton Fitzwarren. The work involved undertaking a GPS site survey, calculation of suitable radius and alignment, positioning of turnouts, as well as setting out to allow earthworks embankments to be constructed and track to be laid.
